Sorry if this post is redundant; I tried searching around on ATV forums and found nothing.
Anyways, with the new ?paper-releases? of all these high-end, rape-your-wallet video cards, I decided to hop on the band wagon and bend over? I mean buy one too.
My question is which manufacturer, from past instances at least, have produced one of the top cards? My current video card is a Siluro GF4 Ti4200 so I am pretty far behind the video card curve and thought I?d get a nice boost from an X800XT PE.

:D

As I said earlier, I do not know which I should buy from. eVGA? BFG?

I know I have a while to wait before I can even think about getting my pudgy hands on one at retail prices (I am not paying $700+, that is almost as bad as the people who paid $5,000+ the for a PS2 on ebay back when it was first released in the US). So I at least have time to think about it. Hell, I do not even know if I want a X800 or a 6800U?

Thanks for any information
Please don?t flame for I am only a noob.

bfg and eVGA build geforce cards, not ATI cards. seems as though you have some major descisions to go with. Personally i would go with the BFG 6800U (o/c or non o/c). I think you know how to overclock your vid card :D

yea I had a hunch BFG and eVGA are nVidia only since I have never seen their name associated with ATI hehe. :p

But yea, I do know how to OC a video card. In fact my Ti4200 is OC'ed and runnin fine.

I think the difference between 6800U and the X800 XT is so small that I'll just end up going with whatever I find cheapest at the time where I MUST buy a card.

I need this rig complete before august 20, anyone speculate that these cards may be more attainable by then?
