What memories do you have associated with these cards?Do you still own any of these cards? Can they still run today's games? most importantly Is it better than the GTX1080?

I went straight from the 9800 to the 480, so I missed out on this generation. My other PC had an AMD 3850, which eventually upgraded to the 6870. From what I can tell based on the longevity of the 280, it was a very fun generation.

Went from vanilla 260 to core 216, then SLI 216s, then 285, then SLI 285s. EVGA step-up was awfully nice for that year. 😛

I had GTX 260 and now, after few years I think that it was the best GPU I ever had, really powerful 🙂 1680x1050 resolutuon and max settings weren't any problem for this card until BF3 came out.

I had the exact 280 you have pictured above.

From that to a GTX560Ti, and to my current GTX680. Going to buy a 1070 I think.

I was a poor college student those times. Couldn't afford new so I bought a used GTX 260 216 cores. That was the first card that provided me with a good Crysis experience at 1680x1050. It also allowed for some heavier modding in Oblivion, which was great. I didn't upgrade the 260 until the HD 6950 came along.
