Hi, I just bught my cooooool new pc and i gotta real bad problem
with it. It seems that my video card (TNT2 M64, i know, ya can stop laughing now) has some serious problems.

Any, and i mean any game that i play will stutter no matter what. any

Games like Diablo 2 run fine for like a minute ( 40-70 fps) and then drop to like 5 fps the next minute.

even games like GTA 2 run at like 5 fps.

Everything was fine till i installed this one bad game......
Motocross madness.

It changed my videocard settings and now they suck.

I've done the following things:

1.) I uninstalled the game!
2.) I thoroughly deletes the game
3.) I did a virus scan (though a virus would seem unlikly since the game is origional)and no virus.
4.) I Restored the defaults to all my videocard settings.
5.) i did scandisk, norton cleansweep etc.

Nothing worked and my games suck now.

Its not a Cpu problem since i got 900 mhz, and 256 ram

1.)Would the problem be solved if i got a new video card?
2.)Should i download the newest driver? (detonator 3) but that would decrease perfomance at lower res.
3.) Any other advice?

If you say yes to question 1, what video card should i buy
( Kyro II, Geforce 2 gts, Radeon 64DDR, Voodoo5 AGP ?)

Any, advice would be aprreciated, please help
end my agony.

I'm a noob myself, but I think your problem may be DirectX related, since you installed a MS program. You may have accidentally over-installed DirectX of a later version over a newer one, thereby fubarring your software.

I suggest that you download the latest version of DirectX and get those Det3 drivers.

Personally, I use the Det drivers and I'm getting the best FR i've ever seen. :) Not to mention, the Det's are a hell of a lot more compatible in Direct3D mode...

Which COULD be your problem.... MS appies use D3D 98% of the time, so maybe it disagrees.

RECAP: Install DirectX, Install Det Drivers, get back to me.
