Note: there is some risk to bios flashing, if the power goes out, the bios goes dead, lucky for you, the a8n has a double bios chip so if you kill one it will still boot on the other and let you flash the other chip again.

I downloaded the file but nothing happened when I opened it

It may need to be put on a floppy and booted read the instructions off the website

Ya, put it on a floppy and boot it. They are bootable floppys I just checked,
Make sure you are booting the floppy before anything else in the boot order in the bios.
