Ok, so lately I have been having some strange things happen in every game I play.

maybe forty to fifty pixels will be different colors spread throughout the screen then these large triangles will shoot off of the game models and stretch across the entire land.

Example:

CSS, at the top of someones head, a triangle that is 1 sided will shoot straight up in the air. Or the tip of a gun.
Then, a black or white line will run across the sky, or down on the ground.

NWN2, same large black or white line stretching across the entire sky. Certain models will have these weird triangles shooting off them from any point on the body until the edge of the screen.

Current rig is an A64 3000+ S939 + 2gb DDR400 + ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe Lian Li PC65B with 2 new 90mm intake/exhaust and high flow/rpm blowhole.

Thanks for the help...if there is any to give =(

Temperatures!

Should be less than 80 degrees under load, or no more than 90 degrees. You can check with the nVidia Control Planel, ATITool, NVTempLogger, etc.

If your temperatures are okay, try re-installing your drivers. There might also be a problem with your voltages/frequencies, but I doubt it. Since you have a 7900GT, it might be a memory problem if it's one of the early ones using defective Samsung RAM modules, which means RMA.

Hmmm...I don't think the 7900GT was released until March '06. Either way, if you've got one of the early ones your card has apparently lasted you much longer than most of the unfortunate souls who've had their memory fail. There was a defect with the modules used in the card, IIRC. If you RMA'd it, you probably wouldn't be getting a 7900GT back. I'm guessing they'd send you an 8600GTS (thumbs-down), a 7950GT (thumbs-up), or an 8800GTS 320MB if you're lucky.

I'd check the temperatures and remove/reinstall drivers right now, though.

So I checked the temp of my video card right after exiting out of BF2 for 45min on a hot, sunny evening. It said 59C.

After reading around in the forums, that seems to be a great temperature! So I am wondering if a change in drivers will fix my problems or is an RMA in the future?

1. Unless your card is a super-new model (8800), always use the newest drivers. The current one for your card on Windows XP is 94.24.

2. 59 degrees is amazing for the 7900GT, especially if you're using the stock cooler. If you are still having problems, contact eVGA and see what they think. I'm guessing they'll tell you to RMA.
