Upgrade your video card? Yes.
Upgrade your RAM to 1 GB? Yes.

If you tell us what kind of budget you're working with and what kind of RAM you currently have in your system, more learned individuals than myself will probably come along with excellent suggestions for RAM and video cardage.

I'm hopeing I can stay in the $200 $250 range in my Video Card. The type of RAM I have is 400MHz PC2300 and again 512MB of it.

Yes, get a 6600GT for your computer, (cheaper than last gen high end cards and still is faster).

Well you have 512mb of RAM right now. What programs do you run? DO you run them simultaneously? Do you encode/ decode video?

Since you prob. have an AGP system I'd suggest trying to find a used 9800Pro or just get a 6600GT if you can't find a cheap 9800, and definitly add another 512mb

I would go with a 6600GT first, then if you've got enough to upgrade to 1 gig of ram, do that and you should be set for awhile.
