Video Card Help/ Troubleshooting

I am running a 9800 pro thats about a year old in a new computer I just built, and it was in perfec conidition in the other machine, but now when it gets to windows, the monitor screen goes blank, the system seems like It is still running fine without a picture, but its inoperable at that point. I am hoping the great minds of this forum can say that this is a stupid mistake by me and point me in the right direction, thank sin advance!

so you have video until it boots all the way into Windows.

Try booting into safemode and see if you have video there if you do you might have a driver problem if it doesn't work in safe mode then its probably just going bad. If it is working uninstall all the ATI Stuff and then boot back into windows the normally and download and install the lastest drivers.

One other thing I thought of. Some programs that overclock you video card wait until they load up so if you have your videocard overclocked maybe it just can't take it anymore and when the program speeds it up it just kills it.

I would also reseat the Videocard just to be on the safe side.

Check to make sure the fan hasn't locked up, I saw someone's machine last month whereas a frozen fan wreaked all kinds of havoc...he spent a couple of hours troubleshooting, pulled it, handed it to me, and I attempted a quick finger-spin...his jaw dropped when he realized how simplistic it should have been.

And if the machine really is "just built" and running WHQL drivers, that's the most-likely culprit...grab the latest.
