Hey guys i plan on getting the 6800gt card and would like to know how much performance i will be able to gain from a heatsink and whether it's worth the money.

Also, can you please recommend some good heatsinks?

Thanks a lot

you should wait a little...

i've been using Zalamn for while on my 6800GT.

and i ordered a NVsilencer recently, once it arrives, i am going to see what the differences are...

its called wrong forum for the OP. anyway, the zalman vf700 alcu is the best.

Id prefer the VF700 Cu over AlCu. I dont think the extra weight and cost is much of an issue, unlike the XP90 Vs. XP90C scenario.

Being that you're a complete noob, how about just learning how to overclock with stock and upgrading when you learn what the heck you are doing. And as others have said, don't repost in every forum the same question. Makes people want to help you even less.

lol, I bet he did the same thing with his parents:

"Mom, can I have 600 bucks for a new computer? Dad, can I have 600 bucks for a new computer?......
hey grandpa...."
