video card heat sink woes

yeah it fell off.. now its lying on my nic card,still spinning, rattling like an old man's lungs.

What can i reattach it with that wont melt, burn, or mess up the video card??

I was thinking some sort of epoxy or silicone caulk or some crap like that...

help please.
 
you could either use some thermal frag tape (double sided tape that's thermally conductive), or you could use some arctic silver adhesive. both would do the job for you (someone's selling some frag tape over in the for sale/trade forum actually, so you might want to check that out).
 
Use ordinary silicone rubber caulk (RTV, not latex caulk with silicone oil in it) because it sticks well (better than double-sided tape) and conducts heat well (also better than double-sided tape). Smear a thin layer all over, press and swirl and maintain some pressure for at least 30 minutes. Don't bother with epoxy, regular or thermal, because it's not really better but is hard to remove.
