If you mean displaying OS desktop then any new vidcard will do the job. They all support the res.
If you mean playing 1080p HD content then it really depends on your HW. I hear ATI has "some" acceleration for their x1x00 cards in the new drivers. Other than that, you just need the fastest CPU you can get and it still won't be enough.

Any video card can do it. ATI or nVidia, doesn't matter. Remember the resolution of that monitor is lower than a Dell 2405, and people have no problems with any recent video card and that monitor. I would recommend nothing below 6800 series or x800.

I have a similar setup using a x800 pro, no problems.

Do you play games? If so, which games? You can run 1080p on a radeon 9000 but you won't be playing any games on that card. I have a westinghouse 37inch and with my 9800Pro I'm stuck playing older games like CoD and UT2k4 though HL2 and farcry actually run decently.

I use a 7800GT. If you want to game at native res with 4x/16x AA/AF with all new games, go GTX SLI. I for one normally drop down to 1368x768 4x/8x for heavy/slow games and it looks good. I can do native with no AA, but I prtefer the other. For good engines (not FEAR) like HL2 you can do native and full AA with no problems.

Movie watching (no postprocessing) and older games - 6600GT / x800GTO
Movie watching (postprocessing) and newer games - 7800GT / x1800xl
Newer games to max settings - 7800GTX 512 / x1800xt

never really had a performance issue with my system and my sceptre 37". and no u don't need a dual link dvi setup.

Thak you for the information. I am thinking of the eVGA E-GEFORCE 6800GS. I am not really into games. I just want a TV and double it up as a monitor. How does the text look at 1900x1080?

I am going to order the Sceptre from tigerdirect.ca. Does anyone know if there is anyother dealer in Vancouver, BC of Canada?
