Make this quick and painless for me, new system

What is a good graphics card to run SC2 @ 1080P resolution and smooth gameplay at "at least" medium settings?

Also please recommend CPU/RAM requirements for SC2...

Ram recommendation is 4GB for any modern OS regardless of SC2.

CPU recommendation really depends if you are only going to be playing SC2. I would probably go with i5 750/760 (just because if you are building a new system that's my favourite CPU at the moment). An overclocked Core i5/7 will be the best CPU for SC2: http://www.techspot.com/review/305-starcraft2-performance/page13.html

For medium quality settings, even a 9600GT or GT240 will do. Something like a 4890 or 9800GTX+ will let you use ultra without AA. If you want Ultra+AA, you are looking at an overclocked GTX460.

If you're cost constrained and looking to keep your build cheap a 5770 1GB will provide more than enough horsepower for Ultra @1080p. Don't really notice a huge difference between My old 5770 and new GTX 460 in terms of non-AA performance.

Video card
Nvidia GTX 460 or ATI Radeon 5850

CPU
Any dual core CPU over 2.8Ghz

RAM
4gb

OS
64 bit vista or 7. 32 bit OS will do, but you may run into OoM problems depending on hardware/software setup.

PSU
don't go cheap on this or you will regret about it.

Haha, OP left it open to interpretation, so it's hardly going to be "quick and painless" ;)
