I dont use Photoshop, but my son is building a box to run Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc etc.
We'll be using as much CPU and RAM as can be afforded, but since i don't use these programs, i have no idea what VidCard works best for them.

He'll be using dual 19" monitors, so i'm assuming 512MB vRam will be needed.

TIA for any and all help :)

Photoshop and dreamweaver are CPU dependant, not GPU dependant. Basicaly any pci-e videocard will do. Better to skimp a little on the videocard, and spend some extra money to get a q6600 and 4gb of ram. Oh make sure the videocard does have 2 DVI outs though.

Yup, thats the way i was leaning, but i'm more concerned with image quality then anything.

Haven't heard about any real difference between image qaulity between ATI and Nvidia. Not in 2d imaging anyways. I wouldn't be to concerned, more important for the image qaulity are the lcd screens.

LCD will be the greatest factor when it comes to 2d IQ.

That said, Nvidia has a definite edge when it comes to 3d IQ as far as I'm Concerned

I always work with Photoshop all the times and it doesn't have any problem with x1950 pro and 22" LCD monitor (22" Wide Screen helped me more room to work with picture)

Your son can get either ATI and nVidia cards
