I am planning to switch for a great video card around september or november, what do you think will be good at the time?
(Maybe a 400$ budget or around it)

How about waiting until October-November and seeing what's out there?

I'm also curious as to when we'll see the next series of winners from nvidia.

Anyone who is even considering an nvidia card after looking at those hl2 benchies needs to seek immediate help. Dont bother with the 9850 pro. Just wait till it comes out to get the 9800 np cheaper and clock it to 9800 pro speeds. With the extra 250, buy a 74 gb raptor

Even if anyone believe that the current nvidia cards are losers, that doesn't mean that all future cards will be... Although after the Radeon 7000, they sure did go downhill....

If it says fx in front of it, count me out. The 5200 and 5600 are jokes and the 5900 is overpriced and an underperformer. Its sad when the gf4ti4600 outperforms the entire fx series aside from the 5900 and compares to it when overclocked in hl 2 benchies
