I'm looking for a new video card for my shuttle pc and size is obviously a factor. I was looking at the 3870 but it is a very long card and im not sure if it will fit. I then started looking at This card. How does the 9800gt compare to the 3870. Or are there better alternative around the $150 range i should be looking at.

Most of the nicer card are long. But you should be able to cram one in there. It will be tight and the PCI-e connector will be a pain to get plugged in but you will be able to get it in there.

Than again i could always run 2 4670's in crossfire i would much rather one strong card but this is always another option

8/9800GT or HD 3870 are not going to cut it running crysis. Anyway, if you must get one of the two, go with the 8800GT/9800GT.
HD 4670 is a good idea.

HD 4670 is a good idea.

That depends on your monitor and the resolution you play at.

HD 3850 @ 825/2200 runs Crysis at 1152 x 764 16AF no AA all details on high averaging 45-55 fps, minimum staying above 35. That's playable for me, it's not like anyone is getting stellar framerates with any hardware in that game.

For the orginal OP I would suggest the 4670, near same performance with even less power and heat.

Well thats good to hear because my tv only supports a max of 1360x768 so if i can run that on high with either card i'd be happy

Yeah, two 4670s are equal in performance to a 4850 according to the reviews I've seen. It's a very small card so if the length is a concern and you've got a crossfire board in there anyway it seems like a good way to go.
At that resolution you might want to buy one of them to see if it's acceptable to you and maybe save some cash. You can always grab another one later if you want to. It's a new card so the prices are only going to go down.
