Video card for DVD playback

Please help me with some recommendations of the very best video cards for DVD playback - and with the minimum gaming capability! In sense Matrox G400 for 2D and colour + dvd playback. AnandTech reviewed an ATI card, 1900(?), in Feb 06. Is this as good as it gets, i.e., till a card with Fuji's new H.264 chip comes along?

If you wish to do upconversion... look to the Nvidia 7600 GS and up with purevideo.
Audioholics.com did a review of Vidabox media players upcoversion and they use the Nvidia cards.
