Video card for dual monitors?

I'm getting a new system..I'm a student photographer, so I'll be using photoshop (and some gaming, not a great deal).

I'll be looking at running a 19"CRT and either a 19" or a 17" LCD.

It'll be an AMD x3800 with probably 1gb RAM (upgrade to 2gb later if I need it).

So on that note, what video card will I need - how much of a drain would the extra screen be?

Would I get away with a $200ish card such as the 6600GT or X800GT, or would I need to spend a little extra for a 6800Gs? I just don't know how relevant it is to running the 2nd screen....

assuming ur doing PCI-E, id pay for a gto^2 or a 6800gs

youll need i t for later stuff as well. second screen isnt exactly very draining from my expiereinces,(running 2 samsung sp1702's on my current rig). but for future programs and what ever little bit of gaming ur gonan do id say get a gto^2 and mod it to a x850 or get a gs and unlock/oc

If you're doing PhotoShop, 1GB RAM is AOK.
If you're doing PCI-E, then check this, FireGL
My suggestion is spending more on processor, dual core.
or spend more on a gaming card, your choice.

Wow, I did something retarded with the title of this thread.

I'm getting an AMD x2 3800 (dual core) processor as it is...just deciding exactly how much I'm willing to spend on a video card....(I'm a bit of a noob)

Hmm...I'll look into the ones that are mentioned
