Video card for Dell 2405fpw

I just got a new E510 with the 2405fpw, and since the only video options were the x300 and x600, I got the x300 with the intention to replace it asap. So my question is:

What video cards should i be looking at that will fit in the E510 box and be able to drive the 1900x1280 resolution? My price range is ~$200-250, but if that won't get me much, I'm okay with spending less and running at low settings until new stuff comes out.

As for games that I want to play, that's hard to say. I haven't played many games lately, but I'd be interested mostly in 1st person shooters, etc.

u can get 7900 for under 250 AR, many deals i saw...thsi is what i use wit hthat monitor, gotta love gaming on this bad boy heh

what kind of games do you play? what settings?

Sorry, my mistake. For some reason I thought they were more.

Wish the 7900GT didn't need the extra power connector...

does anyone know if:

a) either the x1800xt or 7900gt will fit in the e510, since the form factor is smaller

b) if i would need to upgrade my PSU to run either card?

thanks!

hi

i too have Dell dimension 5150 pentium D 2.80 Ghz PC with * 300 ATI Express

i need to upgrade to 1800XT or 7900GT , but i am not sure whether it will be fit in the
Dell 5150 ..

does anyone give suggestions pls

Has to be single slot card. Any dual slot cards will not work. I have the E510 also and wound up going with a x1800gto also power might be an issue I wound up having to replace the power supply. The system one would not boot once in awhile but all in all very happy with it now. Unlocked the last 4 pipes so its basically a x1800xl.
