Video Card for AMD Speed System

Hey guys,

Wanted to get some input from you regarding video card selection.

Im building a new comp. and this is what I have so far:

Athlon 64 3500+
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Mobo
1 GIG Crucial PC3200 Ram

I want a decent video card but don't want to spend too much cash. I don't play a lot of games, maybe 1 or 2 a year. I will most likely pick up HL2 after I build this system but can't see buying anything else in the forseeable future. What card would you recommend for my needs?

I want to spend between under $175...

Any suggestions greatly appreciated..

BTW, if anyone has a nice card that they want to sell I might be interested in that as well

Geforce 6600GT for $192.00 or Radeon 9800 Pro for $190.00
You have such a nice system it would be a shame to waste what you have by getting anything less than that.

But if you insist
get a GeForce FX5900XT for $174.50

Personally I wouldn't settle for less than a GeForce 6800

dont get an FX anything... at circuit city they have 9800 pros for $180 after MIR's thats not a bad deal. but for your needs something like a 9700 pro off ebay would be fine, should be about $140 too.

Agreed.

Go for a 6800 if you can tho. Or an X800 series card. It'd be a shame to cut corners on the video card with a system that nice.
