Video card for a middle-of-the-road system

Hi!

I am building a computer based on MSI KT3 ULTRA2 motherboard and Althlon 1900. I am at a loss, however, as to which video card would best suit my intended uses for the machine: mainly web browsing and word processing, with only occasional gaming. If I do play a game though, I want the video quality to be good/adequate. I would prefer to spend in the neighborhood of $50 for a video card, but if it is unrealistic to get something that satisfies my system needs at that price, i would be willing to spend up to $100. So, what card would you recommend? Thanks for your help.

The Radeon 8500le seems best for your needs. Under $100 and plenty fast for gaming plus excellent 2D.

😉 Absolutely without a doubt spend the little extra for a 128MB Rad8500/8500LE or Rad9000PRO, if you can live without AA (most people can) these cards are VERY good for their money, hugely better than the $50-60 cards esp with any semi-decent CPU. Unless GF3 are a whole lot cheaper or GF4TI4200 only a tad more it makes no sense to go with anything else.
