Video card fan still spinning when screen goes dark in WIN2K?

Hey guys,

my problem is, that I switched from Win98 to Win2K recently and the following problem occurs:

In Win98 the video card fan did stop spinning when the monitor went to stand by ( in my case after 3 minutes) and it does not do that any more in Win2K.
This is a problem for me, cause I do Seti 24/7 and the graphics card fan is rather loud, so any help would be appreciated!
