video card dual DVI output issue

Hey guys,

I have a Sapphire HD 2900 Pro video card with two DVI ports both supporting 1920x1200 resolution according to the manual. I also have a 24" 1920x1200 Westinghouse L2410nm monitor. The monitor works perfectly on the first port (which I will call port 1), but displays grainy text and just a general low quality image when the monitor is hooked up to the other DVI port (which I will call port 2). I've tested a different monitor (a much smaller LCD) on port 2 and it works fine (no grainy text) on a dual monitor setup with my Westinghouse on port 1.

My question is this: I would like to buy another 1920x1200 monitor for dual monitor display (possibly even the same model as the one I already have), but I'm concerned that it will display grainy text on port 2 even when another monitor is hooked up on port 1. Do you guys think it will? Any thoughts?

Thanks very much!

That's very wierd. It's a digital signal, so it shouldn't look any different.

Look under your "reduced blanking" settings, see if changing that affects anything.

this. if it isnt, i would RMA the card or get a replacement. i have a 2900PRO 1GB from sapphire, and i have never had any problems with it, other than its performance being similar to my 4670 512mb now lol

The cable is the same, although I am using a DVI->HDMI adapter if that matters at all.

As for the RMA, the card is still under warranty but I need to send it to Hong Kong to get it replaced. I wonder what the shipping would be on that... I'll check it out though.

Thanks!
