MODDED USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

DNA Catalyst 3.6.5.1a Great alternative to the legendary Omega drivers.
Nice improvements all around from what i gather

Omega Catalysts 5.1 : Most popular modded ATI driver out there.

Nvidia DNA Force Drivers (Based on 71.80): Heavily modified for very good IQ and little speed loss. Not for benchmarking.

Zer0Point 66.97 : Claim to fix the Yellow water and have good all around improvements.

Xtreme G Drivers: Very nice set of drivers. Big thanks to creators!!

ATI DNA Drivers 4.12 : As noted on the main website.

ATI Omega 4.12a : Tagged 3 December 2004 Works with ANY Radeon card including Mobility series.

ATI Omega 4.12 Win2K/XP : Tagged 14 October 2004

Nvidia Omega 61.77 Win2K/XP : Tagged 25 December 2004. Bugs fixed and themes added.

And finally, for all you 3DFXers out there. Here are all the drivers you could ever want for those cards.

3DFX Drivers : Various Tag Dates

Please just list any drivers that really really need to go up there. I know i have to put up the 66.82's, but any others that work really well please list.

Any new drivers will be posted here as soon as i find that they are released.

(Benchmarks here for those new drivers will also be nice)

Catalyst 4.12 drivers gave me 11 fps increase in video stress test in source. Definitely worth getting if you have HL2.

Thanks THUGSROCK!

As a not i will be updating with Omega, DNA, Starforce drivers as well as pulling drivers from other sites.

It would also cut down, significantly, on traffic if you posted 3dMark scre questions, and regular scores here.

Hey OP thanks for this thread. I have an idea for ya too though if you want to post this link:

Valence Studios Nvidia Modded Drivers

These are modded versions of the Nvidia releases that have better image quality, performance, stability, fixes, Coolbits overclocking built-in, etc.... I have personally used the last two releases and found them great! You could also link to Tech Connect (NGO) and their drivers. With the crappy quality of Nvidia drivers lately (coming out every other day it seems like), it's nice to have a solid set of drivers. They run great on my system.

You can also check out Guru3d.com's forums if you want to find out more about driver releases. They have great info there!

Thanks again for the topic

Good stuff. I've got the 66.93s right now, so I think I may try the 70s and see if I get much of a boost in HL2 and other games. Although, it would be really nice to upgrade my rig, since I'm very CPU limited at the moment and don't know if I'll see any gains because of that.

:(

Mobile barton, currently at 2.3ghz for now. Florida is too damn hot, even in the winter...ambient temps are a pain to get down. I'd buy an SP-97, but I don't want to dish out $45 on a HSF for an AXP rig when I'm upgrading to A64 in 3 weeks, dropping an XP-120 on whatever chip I get, and hope for 2.6ghz :D

I'm only able to game at 10x7 at the moment due to limitations of my monitor, which is why I'm basically CPU limited. A monitor upgrade may well come with the rest of my rig, though, depending on how much money I have left over after the build.

do new driver releases help aging cards, like my asus gf4 ti4200?

my drivers are, well, significantly old (45.23 I think, from late 2003). but it's a long DL on a 56k modem, so would you guys say there is significant optimizations to even the older cards? My gut instinct says yes, but i don't know anything about this-- it could be that the new drivers are just made to support new cards and bug fixxes for them.

Well newer cards of course support them, and they do add fixes and tweaks for them, but as any company does they like to concentrate on their newer models. Check on say futuremark.com or guru3d.com's forums and see what other people have been running. I would definitely try a newer driver if I were you, just leave your dialup connection on overnight downloading! That's what I used to do anyway.

Another thought, if you want to paypal me shipping I could just burn some crap for you and mail it out in a case. PM me if you have any questions (probably a stupid idea, but hey I have a t1 here so I might as well use it)
