Yesterday I got a Dell 2001 monitor for my Shuttle SN95G5 (which is only about a month old). I had been using a 15" LCD over DVI running at 1024x768 without any problems whatsoever. My video card is an ASUS nVIDIA GeForce FX5200, 128MB DDR, Dual DVI/VIVO, 8X AGP, Model "V9520 Video Suite".

Upon connecting the 2001 (via DVI), I had a little trouble getting it to display 1600x1200. But it eventually did. The problem I ran into is whenever I left my computer alone for a while, I'd come back and the monitor would be off (ie, in power savings mode as per windows power savings) and wouldn't come back on. Occasionally the monitor would come back on after several minutes of moving the mouse and stuff around. I tried turning off the power savings mode in windows, which didn't help. I then updated the video drivers to the latest Nvidia ones available online. Once I rebooted after installing the driver, I have no video whatsoever!

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Try booting into safe mode (VGA) by pressing the F8 keep at boot-up,then go into device manage & remove the monitor driver you just installed.

This should get you back up & running,as for your monitor going off i got no ideal, you sure power mode is at always on... ?

I could, but I don't get any video at all (ie, I don't see any part of start-up on the monitor). I'm gonna try re-seating the video card when I get home.

Aight, I swapped in another card and it seems to be working fine (altough I haven't left it alone long enough to go into power-save). Its kinda frustrating that the other card would just die randomly (it worked fine for the past month until I got a new monitor).

Thanks for your help everyone...
