sorry guys, I have the same post under general hardware and then realized I should have it here. Anyways, I am overclocking my system, so whats left is the video card now. I have a Celestica ati 9600xt 256 and I want to overclock it. But i want the best cooling (not liquid, due to budjet), if anybody can assist me that would be great. thx

i wouldn't bother spending that much money on a cooler for a 9600XT - the card just isn't fast enough. I got the zalman VF700, and it's nice, but i mainly got it cause my temps were rediculous (80C under load!!!), and it dropped my temps by like 20C. Anyways, since the 9600XT runs less than $90, and the cooler is around $30, you'd need like a 33% overclock to make it worth it, and i doubt very much you'll get anywhere near that.

I have an ATI 9600XT and it overclocks to 585/346 on stock cooling.

The temp sensor says 50C under full load and the stock cooler is modest.

From what I understand all 9550/9600 cores run very cool in comparison to other gpu's.

The VF700 doesn't cost much on ebay. I can get it for abour 20u.s. So i think i will go with that.
