Video Card Cooling and PCI Card Install

So my video card is a Radeon 4830, which has a dual-slot cooler. It works fine and all, and it covers over one PCI slot. There is another PCI slot below this which is free, but if I install my sound card into it it will "sort of" block the video card's cooler. There will still be like 1/2 of an inch between the PCI card and the Video Card cooler.

My question is, will this cause a problem for cooling the video card with regards to airflow? This is my only other PCI slot and I need to install my sound card.

It shouldnt be much of a prob. whats more important is that the air has somewhere to escape wich is normally behind your pc?

The hot air will just vent all around it and outside of the case. Nothing to be worried about.

If you do worry, run GPUz to monitor temps and use Rivatuner to blast the fan @ 100% while gaming.

The 4830 is a very cool running card. At idle clocks it sits pretty at 35C. Normal clocks @ 42C and load at 66C (with the overclock).
