That Gainward has had tons of problems with a few capacitors on the board. Do a google search to read up on it. That was the card I was going to go with until I read the ongoing saga of RMA's.

One word of warning, Asus RMAs take a long time, about 2 weeks if the card dies before you get your replacement. I'd get the Asus anyway after hearing about the Gainward card's problems.

not true...if the Ti4800SE were unquestionably faster than the Ti4200, then it would be no contest. however, this isn't by any means the case. the only difference between the Ti4800SE and the Ti4200 is AGP 8X support. the Ti4200 is just as fast. in fact, some hardware reviews show that the Ti4800SE clocked in slightly slower than the Ti4200. if you are really worried about not being able to play games and handle graphics because you don't have an AGP 8X card, then get the 4800SE. another good reason to get it is the low prices. but i can tell you AGP 8X won't matter for a long time...if ever.

as far as capacitor issues w/ the Gainward 4200, i've never even heard of the issue. i'm not saying that its BS or anything, but i've had my Gainward 4200 for over a year now and never had a problem w/ it. now i'm not one to OC my video card, but i have OCed it significantly, and still no stability problems.
