Video Card causing problems?

Got the latest update for the AmeriasArmy (AA) game and after a while of playing an error message would appear and shut down the game. On the AA forum I read that the video card drivers should be updated. I have a Nvidia GeForce2 MX400 card so I went to the Nvidia site and updated the drivers (as instructed I removed the old drivers first).

Upon re-boot I got an Windows error message (in the task tray) saying there is a duplicate name on the network (or something to that effect). I have two computers networked using a Dlink DI 524 wireless router, but the computer names are different, in fact the other computer wasn't even on when this was going on. I simply x'd out the error message and everything with my network was fine but it bothers me that this occurs and I'd like to know why.

So of course I run AA again and I'm seeing all sorts of crazy stuff on the screen and I'm thinking why the f did I mess with things, so I have Windows do a search for other drivers (I didn't notice until later the option to go back to the previous set of drivers) and it installs a different set of drivers (I believe the old ones but I'm not positive). Game runs fine again, but that stupid message still bothers me as well as the Nvidia "program" running in my tray. (I figured out how to get rid of that though). I also feel like my computer is running slower than before and booting up slower (although I may just be paranoid).

What do you think happened, what do the video card drivers have to do with my network? Is there a way to go back in time and reset everything? Should I just shut up? Is there life after death?

Thanks

Win XP machine by the way

It doesn't sound like anything that ever happened to me when changing a video driver, and I have changed a lot. The networking forum could provide enlightenment, but an EXACT error message is the most useful. I think it may be that a computer with the same name may seem to exist when you change the IP.

But you can go back to a restore point, provided one was set. Quite often restore points are set automaticly.

To get there:

Start
All Programs
Accesories
System Tools
System Restore

Pick:
Restore my computer to an earlier time.

Thanks for the reply KF. Had to reboot last night and that error no longer appears (don't know why, don't care!!) However, I still think my machine is not running as smoothly as before so i may try the restore. Going to try to play some other video intensive games and see how it runs before "going back"

Thanks again.
