I currently own a geforce2 mx400 64mb and it doesn't run real well with all the games out but at least i am able to play them. I am goin back to college in september and I was thinking of buying a new video card soon such as the $200 radeon 9700 or i was thinking to wait till christmas time to upgrade to a new card. This would allow me to concentrate more on my studies since my current video card probally wont be able to play the new games coming out. Do you guys think I will be able to get a much better video card come christmas time for the 200 dollar price level, or should i buy the 9700 now to maximize my time with it?

Rule 1: Hardware price nearly always go down

Rule 2: There's always betta shizzle a-coming

with the prices being what they are, hang on till sep ... u'll prolly get a 9700pro for a lil' more than $200

Like he said, prices always go down and stuff gets outdated. You can get a video card right now that is significantly faster than that one for around $130 or below. If you need it now, get one now. Anyways Ati 9700 pro is like $260 shipped right now and non-pro is like $200. That really isnt all that much, they are almost as fast as the 9800, but that card is $400+.

Your ouija board is probably as good as anyone's.

As mentioned, if you need it now, get it now.
