i'm planning on buying the x800 xt when it is released, but i was curious if the brand mattered at all..

i currently have a radeon 9700 pro, only thing i didnt buy new with my new pc, i was waiting for the x800, and its just the ATI brand.. but i checked ATI's site and also these companies will be making they're own versions as well of the x800...

ASUS
Celestica
Connect3D
FIC
GIGABYTE
Hightech Information Systems Inc.
Info-Tek
MSI Computer Corp.
Sapphire Technology
Tul Corporation

are some actually better than others, will it make a huge difference.. or is it just paying for the name pretty much? some of them are much different cost wise

most of the cards are manufactured by the same people, so almost all the cards differ only in the software package, warrenty, and price. go with which ever one has the best price with warrenty and software in mind. as long as they all have the same clockspeeds

yes, but if they are the same clockspeeds memory wise, you cant really tell and it does not really matter as long as o/c is not a big issue

Consider the company's warranty and support too.
