Video card bottlenecking??

I have my winnie running at 2.5 278x9 with 1.575v and mem at 208 ( for some reason it will not be stable at any higher frequency). The problem is if i up htt higher than 278 and run any one of intence video games, the video card will hang and throw me back to windows with video error... could it be that radeon 8500 agp 4x just can't catch up?

What did you test stability with? Test stability with Prime95 and memtest86.

prime 95 doesn't fail at 282HTT, but video freezes up

You freeze running prime? That means your not stable. Either bump up the vcore or lower your htt. Until you can run prime95 overnight without any errors. Try bumping up your vdimm or loosening your timings. Also run memtest86 overnight.

sorry, i meant prime 95 is stable, but running 3dmark3 cpu bench freezes up video card, throws me back into windows and gives me ati catalist error

reinstall your ati drivers maybe
do you plan on gaming at all?
if so, you will DIFFENATELY need a better video card.
rest of your system is very nice though

With a processor like that you shouldnt be running a 8500. Its like having a ferrari engine in a geo metro. Go out and buy at least a 6600gt.

Maybe it's drivers. Is all your BIOS stuff pertaining to the card set right (for example, fast writes should usually be turned off).
