Video Card Benchmarks at 1280 x 1024?

Anyone see any anywhere? I am considering what I will buy in 2 months from now. Price is not really needed to be discussed as I have an idea where they will be and I don't have a problem having to save what it takes to get what is the best value.

My concern is that I will go out and buy a 6800GT and be disappointed as it is a good chunk of change and I will never run a game at anything but 1280 x 1024. All the benches I see are at 1600 x 1200... thats a difference of over 600,000 pixels to calculate. From what I think I know, it becomes dependent on Video Card as you move up in resolution. Will there be much of a difference going from the 9800 Pro to the 6800 to the 6800GT? (Ultra is out of the question).

You should experience almost double the performance with the GT. The vanilla 6800's price and performance are very roughly the same as the 9800 XT, which will not provide a really noticeable difference over your Pro. If it's a 128MB Pro though, getting the 6800GT (256MB) would allow you to achieve greater texture detail in Doom 3 and probably more games to come.

Also look at the Doom3 benches at 1024x768: the 9800XT only manages 50 fps at 1024x768 medium quality, and 1280x1024 has 66% more pixels. Chances are the 9800 Pro is not going to be anywhere near 50 fps at 1280x1024.

There's benchies right here@AT link a search will find many more. The point is though, if you look@those FarCry results@ 12x10 4x/8x the GT demonstrates that you will get double the performance for double the money=equity IMHO.

EDIT: I was looking@the 16x12 numbers but the lead@12x10 is still quite large in terms of performance.
