I have recently planned out my next PC purchase. From what I have heard the next gen video cards will be appearing in a couple of months and I am looking at buying a 9800 Pro right now for about $320 Canadian. I was thinking that instead of buying it now I could hold off on buying it for about 2 months and instead play games that do not require such a high end card. I was also planning to take my old GeForce 2 MX and use it in the interim for this new computer until the prices on the 9800 Pro drop. I was wondering if anyone thinks this would be a good and feasible idea. Also, I have never put such an old card in such a new system. I was wondering what everyone thinks about the idea. I mean the video card IS powerful enough to play quite a few games on. I have actually successfully played Knight Online and Battlefield 1942 on the computer. Any suggestions?
Also when buying RAM for my new system what is important as far as rating the quality of the RAM. How do I compare the different brands and what makes each manufacturers product better? So far I have been looking at Kingston, OCZ, and Corsair XMS. Also I am not interested in overclocking the RAM so I don't think that I need anything too high end. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
