Video Card Advice

Im in the market for a new video card. Currently, I have an outdated nVidia Geforce 2 MX400 4x AGP. I am looking for a good video card that meets the following criteria: At least 128mb DDR, ATI or Nvidia, Cost is less than 200 dollars, runs well with many games such as Half-Life + mods, racing games and other online games, and will not become outdated quickly.

The best bang for your buck is currently a $200 ATi Radeon 9700 (but it requires a 300W power supply, so make sure you have one). It's as future-proof as they come in your price range, meaning it has the most raw power and the fastest DX9 implementations of competing cards. Read some of the many, many threads on the front page of this forum for more info.

It should say so somewhere on the power supply itself.

Take a look at Newegg's pictures of an Antec power supply here.

Yea I have, but there arent any 9500pros on there, just regular 9500. I'd get a 9700 but I can only spend 175 bucks. Is the GeForce4 Ti4200 128mb ddr a good card. i have a geforce2 mx400 32mb, so im looking for a big change. i just need a video card that will stay up to date and will provide good graphics.

ive been thinking about video cards, and ive come to the conclusion of buying either a 9500p, 9600p, 9700 or a ti4200. Keep an eye out for some good deals. My budget is no more than $175
