I know this is a pretty general question, and I'm still in the process of putting together all the parts I need to build my computer, but I would like to know if anyone has any reccomendations or links to good information on a video card that is high performance for a video editor more than gamer. I have heard the Quadro VCs are good since they have the openGL support but the FX3800 is like $800 and that's a bit too high.

Purchase Details:

1.Budget(Be sure to include currency if not USD): Cap at $400

2.Do you consider rebates? Sure, with or without cap remains the same

3.Brand Preference: None

4. Crossfire/SLI? Probably goes in to the question itself, I don't know if it's necessary, but I'm not sure.

5.Have you previously looked at a product which you feel would fill your needs? As stated above, I've read the Quadro FX3800 is good performancewise, but is double my price range.

6.Which games (If any)do you plan to play and @ which desired detail levels? I don't really play many 3D games, FPS like the CoD series maybe. Mostly using software like Sony Vegas, Photoshop, Camtasia Studio, Windows 7, etc.

7. Are there any other uses(Folding, Photoshop, Video editing or watching Blu-Ray) or features (DX11, CUDA, OpenGL, 3D, Eyefinity) you are looking for besides gaming? I guess this was answered in the previous question, but Blu Ray is a must and OpenGL support, DirectX11, 3D is all pretty important as well with the video editing to cut down rendering time.

8. Is the performance added by overclocking something you would take into consideration? Not too familiar with overclocking systems so probably not.

System Specs:

1. Pre-built(HP, Dell, etc)? Ordering(a new computer) or Upgrading? I'll be building from scratch.

2.Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 - 2 monitors

3.Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

4.Power Supply Unit: Not sure, but probably something over 750W

5.Case Dimensions(Length, Low Profile, Cooling): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119225
