Video Capturing

My main purpose is to do VHS > raw video > DVD transfers and maybe some TV capturing as well.

I've read the dedicated hardware solution of the Canopus ADV-100 offers great transfers, but its $280-300.

The AIW's have offered some improvements in video capture quality with their 9xxx series cards, so I'm wondering if obtaining a 9600xt aiw/9700 aiw for $150-180 will be a viable alternative. Plus, I get a decent gaming card out if it as a nice bonus.

Has anyone that has used one of these AIW's attest to their video transfer quality?

I think this thread has a bit of info you might be looking for. I have owned 2 AIW cards in my time and I now own an ADVC100 and would not look back. Read my post from this thread.

Good luck on your decision!
