Video capturing software?

Hey folks, I have a question and I hope you guys can give me some suggestions.

I have a WinTV card (model 401 to be exact) and I want to capture motion videos. However, the capturing software that comes with the card captures the video in very huge files, even with the lowest settings I could find! I've seen MPEG's on the net that still have good quality, but manage to stay at fairly reasonable file sizes. So my question is: what software can I use to capture motion video at decent quality/resolution but maintain a reasonable file size (say 50MB or so for 4 minutes of video).

Hi, U can use Virtual dub and picvideo codecs (they're free for personal use once u register) or if ur computer is fast enought, use directly divx codecs while capturing (I have a cel300@450 and i barely drop 15 frames on 40000). Tweak until u satisfied with the quality. A good site to help u is www.vcdhelper.com.
Btw, Picvideo codecs will give u better quality than the divx but also bigger file size.
