Video capture using TV-Wonder.. always froze

Can someone help me??? I have two physical drives, and I jsue D: to store the capture video. However, if I use schedule recording, it always froze my computer like 10 mins into the recording..
Could it caused by my D: drive? It's 15gb and 7200rpm, but it was manafactured 2 years ago.. my computer config is: PIII 1GHz, 256mb ram, Radeon 32DDR..

thanks.

Did you try using another program to capture video? My TV wonder would always freeze up within a minute using ati's software. I then downloaded Virtual Dub and now i am able to capture video with out locking up. Link below...

Also, are you using ATI's newest software? You have to order it by cd from their website. I found it to be a little more stable.

thanks for the help.. I downloaded videodub, but it's only in AVI format, which is pretty big. can anyone else help us out here. we have three people here that have problem with tv wonder's capturing lockup..

Download the latest DivX Codec and save your AVis as DivX instead. If you haven't heard the latest rave about this new format, its much smaller than MPEG II and visual quality is superb.

DIVX Codec

Make sure you have the Microsoft Encoder Tools as well.

Using VirtualDub, you can capture to any format for which you have a registered codec. DivX/MPEG4, motion JPEG, HuffYUV, TrueMotion, Indeo, Cinepak...whatever you please.

thanks again.. i downloaded the divx codec thingy, it the files are a lot smaller now. Did anyone get ATI's digital vcr to work? I still kinda want to have the timer recording. thanks
