Geez..........pushed ENTER on accident.............

http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=14-127-119&DEPA=0

I'm not at all familiar with video capturing to make wmv, mpeg, avi, etc. files on a pc, and I need help. I'm using that y adaptor that comes with the card, but, if any of you out there have this card, or one close to it's specs, what software needs to be used to capture?

A friend is having me use Virtual Dub (all I have is an 8mm vid cam), and it looked a bit choppy when I played back a clip that I accidentally started copying to my pc.

I basically need to know:

a) What's the best way to capture 8mm vid cam footage to where it's as clean as if you were watching the 8mm tape or the VCR tape to which it was dubbed?

b) What video capture program is easiest and best to use?

c) Does my vid card come with the software for video capture? I'm sure it does. (I can't find my manual that came with it)

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanx in Advance

I have a quite comparable card, the MSI GF4TI4800SE - top of the line MSI with the VIVO, but past generation.

The video in works quite nicely, however, to record anything, the program that they shipped it with had a bug where the record button wouldnt work, and the patch wouldnt install.

The only help I can provide is that the program sent with these are junk, and I'm in the same boat as you.

What program that came with your card did you use to capture? What was it called?
