Hi. Bought a Leadtek Geforce4 Ti4600 and it does not have video in. I would like to transfer video from my 8mm tape to computer and burn them to video cd. Any recommendation on a capture board and what is the best way to handle this are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Someone with the know how help us out here!!! I'm looking at this card from newegg -Leadtek TV2000XP TV/FM tuner card @ newegg it seems to me i should be able to plug in my vcr and copies my old home videos to the computer and then to a vcd. Then i would play the vcd on a dvd player.

If anyone knows if that will work let us know...

If you want one of the best, please check out the Hauppage WinTV PVR. It costs, dont get me wrong, but has some awesome capabilities :)

I'm also looking for this kind of info. I think I may just go with the Radeon 8500DV if I can afford it.

My thing is that I want the same quality as a vhs tape at a full screen, None of these 320x240 or whatever. If anyone can link to capture card sites that you like please do. Also any step by step procedures. I am trying to back up HI 8mm analog tapes.

BUMP:)

One issue I have is that my tapes are analog:( I need to convert to digital or maybe a card will do it.:)

try www.vcdhelp.com. they have a ton of vid cap card reviewed. if you have a budget around $300, get Dazzle DVC II. For $40 get I/O Magic PVC, it's really a Pinnacle Studio PCTV Pro, it even says on the card. Which goes for $50 at compusa. I personally have this card. It's a great capture board. I can capture up to 640X480 with ~1% dropped frames.
