VIDEO CAPTURE CARD - Any recommendation?

Hey guys, I need your opinions this time 🙂

I'm planning to buy a Video capture card for my old analog camcorder. Any recommendation on good/reliable card in the range of $30 - $60? This card has to have an S-video or composite video connection, bec. that's all my camcorder can connect.

I have looked at Pinnacle DC30 Plus, Leadtek VC100XP, Dazzle Creator 50 & 80. I received a lot of bad reviews for Dazzle from my peers, mainly software issues. I also received mixed reviews for the Pinnacle, mainly for the quality of the video/sound, not so much on the software side. The only thing I still couldn't get review of is the leadtek. I know they make a good Video Card, and the leadtek winfast TV2000Xp is pretty well-known, but how realiable is the card is unknown.

I know there are more brands out there.

So please guys, if you have any opinions please let me know. I'll really appreciate it 🙂

The leadtek winfast xp edeluxe works good as is for $51 at newegg, but it doesnt have an encoder chip so you'll want a decent CPU for that. As far as reliablility they had some issues with older drivers but with the current ones I've had no problems what so ever. Make sure you dload the ones from leadtek.com the cd normally has old ones.

How's the quality of the video/sound? Do you think it is acceptable or excellent for the price?

Thanks Wetcat007. Appreciate your comment

If you are not running win2k/xp, and do not want it to double as TV-in, you cannot do better then the Pinnacle DC10 at twice its price. If you are running 2k/xp, well . . . your missing out 😉 Then again, I use this card in a system that does enough caps so that a dedicated system is worth it. I know not many are in that sistutation.
