Video camera surveillance over network

Anyone know of any gizmos or gadgets of some video camera surveillance equipment that can be managed and viewed via the network (like a browser interface)? Let me know if you have any experiences with this type of stuff, what specific type of equipment and add your input as far as functionality goes. I would like to record to a dedicated hard drive and be able to view in real-time.

Are you looking for IP cameras or standard cameras (BNC) that are connected to a dedicated computer/DVR? The former cost a ton but are nice since you can wire them right into a LAN with Cat5 in theory but cost a ton, then there is wireless that work just like a computer/Wirelss AP relationship howver cheaper ones have no encryption so anyone can see what you see. Then there is the standard cameras that hook into a dedicated PCI type card that has BNC inputs and a software that translate the video to MPG4 or a like format. I've worked with all but wireless.

I believe standard cameras that would connect to a computer/DVR, unless the price difference isn't significant for IP cameras. (20% difference?)
