Video Artifacts?

NO OCing involved!!

Now for the problem 🙂

When my friend boots the computer up everything is fine. Then when he finally reaches the desktop he gets random video artifacts throught the screen for no apparent reason. He is using the latest Nvidia reference drivers.

The card is a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 with stock everything.

The problem used to occur when he were to play a game, now however it occurs all the time.

Anyone have any suggestions. He wants quick replies so that he can no whether to run out and buy a shiny new video card today.

Id be thinking that something is dieing on the board. Check the basics over like card seating, power supply etc... pop a few fans over it to see if its a heat issue.

If you cant get anything from that, Id suggest underclocking the card to see if that helps.

If nothing has changed recently then Im tempted to say that the card is on the way out. If extra cooling doesnt work just on its own and underclocking + extra cooling work... imo its a dieing card.
