Video acquisition with V6800 deluxe -> Thank you JeSpre !!

G'day Sword & JeSpre,
Have you seen the interlace problem in the 6800 deluxe review?:- http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1154&p=3

I'm having exactly the same problem in full screen mode and wondering whether either of you have had it. It seems you haven't, and if not why me and anandtech have.

The interlaced lines are only there when there's a moving image.

The lines are not there when the Live mode in ASUS Live is selected but are there when Capture mode is selected whether ASUS Live is in recording mode or not.

I've never had dropped frames in recording mode... it just that they're mostly not worth having in full screen mode!

Its no surprise that of the many settings in ASUS Live the only one that seems to have any affect is the number of vertical lines being captured - everything 288 and below is ok even 640x240 (although everything is half the correct height).

I'm using the composite video input to the video card.
Video recorder is
Hitachi 8-mm camcorder PAL 625lines/50fields/25frames

I've got a P3@733, 128Mb@733, ASUSP3V4X motherboard, IBM 30GB U66.
I've loaded all the latest updates for Windows and the latest drivers and software from the ASUS site. DMA is on.
The video card is a ASUS V6800 Deluxe DDR, it is sharing IRQ's but before I start stuffing up my PC I wonder whether it's relevant in my case.

Raincity; sounds like you couldn't stand it and went to an All-In-Wonder
I've got the problem of having too much patience with machines to do that just yet, but... especially now that our $ is worth 50 cents.

I am using an old Sony Video8 HandyCam video camera recorder CCD-TR40 with a 10x zoom...

The fact that I dont have any interlacing problem is probably a consequence of the hardware I use : the camera is probably non-interlace.....

Ill check this later this evening....
