If you have a knife, and you don't win against someone who's unarmed...you got owned.

And I'd expect to get cut if I was the clerk...nothing out of the ordinary there. Forget that knife fighting bullsh!t in the movies, if you are fighting some guy with a knife if real life...you WILL get cut. But getting cut on the arm beats getting stabbed in a lung any day of the week.
