well I have read through a couple pages of this nonsence now.
Did It ever occur to anyone that perhaps the boys wanted the bottle for a canteen of thier own?
Also has anyone considered why these boys have learned its worthwhile to chase after the trucks?
Perhaps the other soldiers routinely throw out things to them. if not I doubt the boys would chase after them.
Too little information, no confirmation of source, an awful lot of assuming.
You know what they say about assume , if your not careful if makes an a$$ out of u and me.

A lot of you guys are saying this is not a big deal worse things happen blah blah... thats true, but the fact that our SOLDIERS are doing it is really unacceptable. There is NO reason why a soldier should do that to ANY kid, especially one that happens to be living in a third world country with hell around them. Its just immoral and inhumane.

Typical american yahoo pricks, this country is full of these sorts, no surprise at their behavior or responses, surprised there aren't more "f'em if the kid cant get his own water, throw em a grenade" talk that is so popular on conservative forums today about this.

Why would they have shot the kid? That's just ignorant.

I think the video showed the soldiers acting like a bunch of arrogant assholes.

As noted; the child was very lucky not to have been shot. Iraq is very dangerous and filled with evildoers.

Wow, you Americans must be so proud of the brave men representing you.

Absolutely we are. Obviously they do have water there, it does rain now and then, you see puddles everywhere. Where's the link to the video of kids hucking rocks at our soldiers who were doing supply runs, bringing things like food and water to the civilians?

Honestly I have zero sympathy for anybody in that part of the world. Obviously I can't lump everybody together in one group, but so many people over there are simply blinded by illogical hatred of us, or anybody different from themselves for that matter. At this point I'd be more than satisfied to see every one of our troops and pieces of equipment (even the stuff we brought over to help "fix" their infrastructure for them) yanked out and brought home, and let the whole region simply destabilize and turn into a nasty civil war. Let them kill each other, rather than us.

you really are a dumb piece of shyt.

Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black...

How so? If you're going to say that, at least back it up with an example.

if it would please the court:

exhibit a, your post.
exhibit b, fox news.
exhibit c, american arrogance and ignorance.

Fair enough... I'll elaborate a bit, by addressing the real argument going on this thread which is:

Iraq is bad, the USA is imperialistic, Bush is a evil bastard, and the US military are led by savage rednecks who have no problem with the rape and murder children....

I mean why do we bother mincing words, and sugar coating everything... let's just get right to the point. Threads like this are just evidence used to support the above existing argument. People pretty much scour the web looking for ways to backup this argument. And as with any highly political, opinionated argument such as this, you can ALWAYS find propaganda to support your agenda.

Reality is this... Iraq sucks... we screwed it up pretty bad... but I believe firmly two things..

1) The Middle East must be changed, Iraq was/is a good entry point into making this change

2) If the world would get it's head out of it's ass and start looking at ways to solve problems, instead of trying to wash themselves of anything publicly dirty, maybe Iraq wouldn't have been such an abysmal failure.

Why is the world so busy pointing fingers and laughing at the failure in Iraq... if they care so much about the hapless Iraqis... why aren't they pouring in their resources into helping Iraqis? Reality is... it's far easier to be a punk ass armchair critic than it is to actually do something.

Did the United States screw up in Iraq?.... yes in alot of ways...

Did the world screw up bigger, by being more concerned with one-upping the united states than actually affecting the world in a positive way? Yes absolutely. At least we tried.

Any further questions?

Yes, clearly the world screwed up iraq more than Bush and company. Obviously. I have now seen the light.

I wish the kids in the video had guns and shot the piece of ****** soldiers. Then again, if that had happened the thread title would have read "omg look at these kids killing our great troops etc". I'm sure events like this disturb all of the decent people serving our country. It's a shame that soldiers arent better screened prior to representing our country.

So the soldiers deserve to die because they teased an Iraqis kid? Kind of hypocritical to take such 'high moral' ground and then wish death upon your own countrymen because they teased a kid.

It's finally good to see your true form.

Im glad someone else has made that point. savoyboy

I might have done the same thing. And it would have been fun... for about 3 secs. Then Id realize that these kids were running after a bottle of WATER. Such a basic neccesity. Conscience would have kicked in and I would have thrown the bottle.

This isnt some great violation of human rights but making innocent kids run, seeing their faces light up in anticipation and then see them giving up in dissappointment just takes something else.

I can do some ****** up things but teasing kids in such a mean way, never.

And so if this video was shot in the aftermath of Katrina and it was a guy in a FEMA truck making kids run after him for food and/or water, you'd see that as nothing more than a good opportunity for them to get some exercise... right?

Oh jesus this is what the left has resorted to as proof of our atrocities? Soldiers teasing a kid as he runs after the truck? Yeah, that ranks right up there with the Mai Lai massacare :disgust:

Spoken like a true 'values voter'.

When did our nation get so many moral scumbags in its citizenry?

I find the lack of values among people like this disgusting. Universal respect for human beings is the right attitude.

What arrogance for these people to buy any lie the government gives them as a pretense for war against others, and then they could not care less about the people they harmed.

Not even close... nor would many of us you lump together as "the left" argue it does. But why do I get the feeling that if this were 1968 instead of 2006, you'd be just as disgusted with all of those people in "the left" who were calling what happened in my My Lai a "massacre" and who failed to adequately, in your estimation, support our troops.
