The M14 carbine in CS. I felt it was the most balanced weapon in terms of damage, recoil, speed, mag size, etc.

It's pretty much the only weapon I use unless I'm broke or have a very specific reason for wanting to buy a different one. Well that, or I'm a T and haven't managed to acquire one from a dead CT yet.

ROTT had awesome weapons, Drunk Missles, Firebombs (sent a wave of flame out from the impact point incenerating anything in its path), Excalibat.
Still my favorite of all of the pre-Quake FPSs.

Useful: HL2 gravity gun, you can do a lot of things with it.
Worst: Pistol from doom 3. The worst part is when it's the only gun you have left with ammo still in it.

i completly disagree with that except for that rail gun and gravity gun. what about UT? tha game the defined online FPS? no reedemer? come on!

I always liked the chainsaw from Doom, and both the crowbar and tommygun from Kingpin.

Although I think the greatest weapon of all time might have to be the judo chop of death from Goldeneye on the N64.
