vid driver for T41P?

What vid drivers should I be using on my T41P?

The ones that came pre-installed have a higher version number than the latest available on IBM's web site, but my 3dmark scores are lower than expected and I have some video stuttering so maybe a vid driver update will help. The installed driver version is listed as 7.933.2.1-031120a-012455C, and the ones on IBM's web site are something like 7.933-030911.

3dmark2001SE was 9500ish, 3dmark2003 was 2500ish, aquamark was 16000ish.

Suggestions? TIA

what video does it come with? i dont think i have ever seen video listed with an ibm notebook. maybe im jeust stupid. ati mobility?

T41P uses ATI mobility firegl t2 128 meg video chipset. It's essentially the mobility 9600 with 128 meg of ram and drivers tweaked for business and opengl applications. It has more options in the driver menus to set up profiles for various commercial programs for example. On the downside, the drivers are not updated very regularly apparently and the latest optimized ATI drivers may not ever be officially available.

i thought ibm machines used their own kind of drivers.
if so, try their website.

i thought that ati usually doesnt provide drivers for mobile products. i read somewhere that this was because the OEMs are free to do whatever they want and have to customize it for the lcd they use.
