Vid card problems?

I can't run 3DMark. Every time I try about 2 or 3 tests in the monitor shuts off like I have shut off the computer, and will not turn back on. I have to reset and then the motherboard gives those lovely beeps that says the vid card memory is bad. However, if I wait just a few seconds the computer will start up just fine with no problems. I had been having problems with freeze ups but have solved that problem. Could the card just be overheating a bit from the test? I have a pretty cool case, temp wise. Fan pulling air in the side and one fan blowing out the top. Should I get a couple of fans to place on the back of the case?

Thanks,

Nolan

Without specs on your machine, I would suspect that it doesn't meet the minimum requirements for 3DMark.

I had a similar problem back in the days when my Belinea 103070 and Riva TNT combination would cause monitor to go into standby when it tried to run certain resolution and colour depth combinations, which ones would depend on which drivers I had installed.

Was a pain and nobody could advise me what was causing it, still did it occasionally on my old GF2 MX card, my GTS and MX440 don't have the problem though....or maybe it's just newer drivers!

Specs would help you get further insight of course.
