I currently have a geforce 2 pro. Have been considering a Geforce 3 ti200. Is it worth the upgrade. The price on the ti's is so resonable now that i am considering the switch. If i dont see much of an improvement though I'd just as soon wait for the G3 Ti500 to come down in price a little or even a G4. Thanks in advance.

I believe you would notice an improvement over the GF2 Pro, especially if you overclocked the GF3 TI200 to TI500 speeds(very good potential). The Ti500 is not worth the money and I wouldn't expect to see it lowering to a good deal at all. Look at the GF2 Ultra, they're still upwards of $200US. The GF4 line is supposed to be a replacement for the GF2/GF3 line that is out. I would wait a bit to see if they are going to release the Gf4 Ti4200 cause that is going to be the best bang for the buck if/when it is released. Either that or get a Radeon 8500. You could always shell out a bit more and get the Ti4400/Ti4600, but it's going to be alot more cost overall.

You will see a great deal of performance just by switching to a Geforce 3 Ti 200. Since it uses all of the Geforce 3's technology, it will last you for quite a bit. And plus, if you overclock it to Ti500 speeds you will get around 19.6% increase in FPS. Not to mention the drivers which will squeeze another 12% performance increase on your card.

Thanks maybe I'll jump on it. This store has it for 125 by me, and theres also a 25 dollar rebate so i figured for 100 bucks it may be worth a try

If you're looking for a sweet overclock out of the Ti200's, I highly recommend the Gainward Golden Sample Ti200... mine is at 235/540 right now, perfectly stable! The Ti500 stock speed is 240/500, I believe, but I may be wrong.

I received a Gainward Geforce3 Ti 200 from Newegg today and it is a great improvement over my Prophet 2 GTS 64 DDR. I really like the DirectX8 support. Visually I really notice a difference in games like MOHAA. The card comes with an enhanced mode clocked at 200/450. I tested it at 240/500 and it runs fine. For $139 at NewEgg.com its a good deal.
