Have an ROG laptop with 5870 vid card. I had a "stopped working" message 24 times while playing ME 2. This happened two weeks ago, and has only happened twice since then. However, nothing drastic occurred... game flickered, crashed to desktop, then resumed. This happened after I upgraded to 15.20 drivers. This only happens in the game.
Should I be concerned, or ignore?

Most likely a driver issue with that game...so, you can use older drivers for now, or wait until they fix it in a newer driver set than those.
If it happens on ALL games/desktop, that is the time to be worried.

I thought as much, but just checking. It has only happened in one game.Thank you for your response.

Newer drivers might not work on laptops. The only ones which will most probably work are the ones ASUS provides on their website. Anything newer is a hit and miss so if you get problems after updating you don't have much of a choice but to revert back.

I have a 5 year old ASUS laptop and anything beyond Catalyst 13.4 produces a black screen for example.

I had considered that as well. So far, no major issues with anything except that one game. If any other problems occur, I will revert to 13.4. I did download driver from AMD website, though.

Are you running any mods? If I remember correctly there was one mod to(supposedly) make the run more stable. Sorry not much of a help here but you can go to nexusmods.com and search for it..

13.4 works for me specifically, depending on your laptop model you can probably get away with something much newer. :D

Well, No problems with ME2 after playing for 18 hrs over 3 days (not consecutive days).
Nothing else is affected. Thanks for ideas...now I'll just wait and see if other games have any problems. Newer games are on another (GTX 970) non laptop PC.
